I received this carafe with my Capresso 4490. The 4490 has since gone to the coffee maker trash bin while the carafe is still working. Now, I just make coffee and transfer it to the carafe. It truly does keep coffee warm for hours - 6-8 hours - if you make sure to close the top tight after each pour. The real test came when we had work done on the outside of our house in very cold weather and the workers kept the carafe outside with them. The coffee remained hot ! I liked the carafe so well, I bought another just to have on hand and have used both for large crowds. I have never experienced a carafe that works as well as this one.
